Nike Global Design Team invited 30 designers out of 600 to create a 2 min video about inspiration in its 2010 design fair. and I was lucky to be on the list.

I am always fond of technology, and the way it changes storytelling. So I came up with this trans-media video idea about inspiration + curiosity + friends. First, start with a CODE...

There are nine stories in my video (A big Thx to all my lovely friends who helped me and acted out in this video). A QR CODE is always centered in the frame. INSPIRATIONs are hiding behind the code. To unlock the secret, you have to scan the code, it will direct you to a web page which has all the answers.

My Inspiration:

- THE INTERPRETATION OF WORDS
- FOOD & VIOLENCE
- THE SOUND OF A CLICK
- TRANSPARENT OBJECTS
- BOYS & GAMES
- INAPPROPRIATENESS
- PEOPLE
- IMAGINARY FRIENDS
- A NEW JOURNEY

The New Platforms & Behavior that TECHNOLOGY Creates, Always Gives Me Space to Think.

Playing around the idea of “Gift”, Nike SB will host
a Christmas themed premiere party in Shanghai to
present the GIFT TEAM's 1st skate film to the local skate community.

The logo is a christmas tree made of Skate elements. The silhouette of the logo was also used as a 'GIFT' wrap graphic, which will be applied on to skate sand tape.

The event space was divided into 2 zones. The foyer was an exhibition and waiting zone. 300 blue wrapped gifts were stacked up at the entrance and around the space. The screening room was inside. The seating was designed to look like the skeleton of skate ramp.

An iPhone APP about Chinese I-Ching divination system for Burning Man 2009.

Inspired by The Book of Changes, I Ching which contains a divination system comparable to Western geomancy or the West African Ifá system. The wisdom is old, but we wanted to bring it to modern life.

N & I came up with this idea/project for our burning man trip. Francis helps us on the programming; N re-writes a modern version of i-Ching reading specially for Burning Man trip; I design the VI & APP interface.

Each day we cycled to different area in the playa to meet new people and offer our app experience.
We marked any possible space in the desert with stickers or drawing.

below are some of the people we met.

To change people's perception of sport is to let them experience it in a different way.

The concept of Lunar Run is to let young runners to experience the sport as a night glowing party. There were psychedelic LED tunnel to run through, interactive fan walls in surprise location to cool them down, glowing biker to cheer them along the way, neon color cocktails of energy drink to keep them going and a 10,000 people concert to lead them to the finish line.

I love neon and LED. I had a lot of fun working on this project, from concept to experience design to all the little giveaway items. if I wasn't 9 months pregnant at that time, I wish I could've run in it too. Check out the video below.

DUNK, STEAL, POST UP, PASS, FADE AWAY, DRIVE.

The 6 classic MOVES taught by Lebron James, face to face? This is not a dream any more. Nike, we decided to bring this special experience to every Chinese young basketball enthusiast.

The goal is to create a basketball culture influence centre to inspire and train young basketballers, and also give them a space to perform and compete. So, we transform the warehouse space into an interactive basketball training exhibition and a pro basketball game court all together.

On the ground, It was a pro basketball court with bleacher seating and baller lounge. On the ceiling, the space was divided into 6 exhibit zones, each zone was dedicated to each MOVE. 6 cylinders were hung from the ceiling. Inside of each cylinder, there was Lebron James' 3D hologram demonstrating each signature moves face-to-face to local Basketball fans. They could be elevated or relegated to form the space into a basketball court or training exhibit.
